Maldives joins WFFA with country leader Saif Zahir

The World Freestyle Football Association (WFFA) just gained a new member state as Maldives signs on with local athlete Mohamed Saif Zahir (Superman). The international governing body of freestyle football announced this past Thursday that Maldives is the 116th nation to sign on.

The organization took to its social media channels and noted, "Maldivian Freestyle Football champion @mohamed.saif.zahir will assume the role of Country Leader in his homeland and take on the mission of helping the local community grow and thrive! We want to thank Mohamed for his commitment to the sport of Freestyle Football".

In addition to being a paralympic athlete who represented Maldives in Tokyo in 2021, Zahir is also the reigning National Redbull street style champion. He expressed his excitement with the new role and noted, "Its a dream come true and I feel wonderful for getting this opportunity to grow freestyle in Maldives. For a better future for the freestylers in Maldives".
With the announcement, the President of WFFA, Steve Elias, and Head of the Global Network within the organization, Pekko ‘PeGe’ Piirto both expressed hopes that this new relationship will help foster more talents- both locally and within the region.
