Tom Cruise aiming to shoot first ever film in space

Top Gun and Mission Impossible lead, Tom Cruise is currently attempting to take his film shooting to new heights: all the way to the International Space Station. Cruise and Bourne Identity director Doug Liman are aiming to shoot his new flick in space, and proposed such a feat to Universal Studios in 2020's pre-pandemic days.
It's been two years since, and the pair are reportedly in talks with Hollywood bigwigs again. Chairman of Universal Filmed Entertainment Group, Donna Langley, spoke to BBC and said, "I think Tom Cruise is taking us into space. He's taking the world into space. That's the plan. We have a great project in development with Tom that does contemplate him doing just that and taking a rocket to the space station and shooting".
While Cruise has been known to do crazy stunts for scenes involving hanging off planes and scaling skyscrapers, this new adventure will cost a lot more than willpower. The new production will reportedly cost upwards of USD 200 million to shoot. Langley divulged, "it actually takes place on earth, and then the character needs to go up to space to save the day."
