New feature Twitter Circles : here to change a few things
3 Sep 2022

Talk about exclusivity. With Twitter being a place of screenshots and accountability as well as a relatively public following, the app makers have decided to roll out a new feature that will change the way you use it. "Twitter Circles" will therefore allow users to only post tweets visible to a few followers.
While Twitter has been testing this feature out since May, the objective is to garner more do the all-important currency online: your attention. Twitter reported that test users have declared feeling more comfortable tweeting within their circle and hopes that this will encourage users to spend more time on the app. The company also reiterated this Tuesday that engagement from Twitter followers to tweets posted within the circle was higher than without.
How it works is by being able to select the option of "Twitter Circle" or "Public" before posting a tweet. Fret not, for you can add and edit a total of 150 followers to your "Circle". Users will not be able to retweet, but can still take screenshots. Twitter has said that it is consulting with experts on the impact of such a private space on how users interact within the app.
