Pontiac launches resort staff campus in Maldives

Singapore's real estate owner Pontiac Land Group has announced that they will be completing a resort staff campus within north Male' atoll. The Pontiac group is slated to carry out operations within Fari Islands- a group of four islands. Three of the islands include a Patina, Ritz-Carlton and Capella with the fourth being Fari Campus. The Patina and Ritz-Carlton opened in May and June respectively.

The CEO of Capella Hotel GroupNicholas Clayton spoke to the Business Insider and said ""Because of space limitations, there has to be a compromise between staff facilities and the equipment planned for the center. So, as much as other [developers] try, colleagues' facilities generally are somewhat landlocked and constricted, versus a blank canvas that we have to create a wholesome village,". He added "It sends a really wrong message that you're a second-class citizen in a way,".

The Pontiac is said to employ around 1200 staff for the whole operation. Fari Island is made of five different clusters where each section will have four, three storey buildings will house dorm-style rooms for staff, complete with a courtyard. The island is also said to include a masjid, a beach esplanade jogging track, football, basketball and volleyball courts as well as a restaurant style dining area that can seat around 450 staff at a time.
