Possible direct flights from Seychelles to Maldives

Speaking to the Seychelles Press, newly appointed Maldivian Ambassador to Seychelles, Mr Omar Abdul Razzak has expressed hope that "there will be a direct flight between Seychelles and the Maldives so that there will be more people-to-people contact between the two countries." The statement was made after the Ambassador presented his credentials to President Wavel Ramkalawan.
Ambassador Razzaq also met with the Seychelles Minister of Fisheries, Jean-Francois Ferrari and held discussions regarding a possible Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding the sharing of maritime security surveillance data between the two nations.
Air Seychelles began flights from Johannesburg, South Africa to Seychelles and Maldives on June 12th 2021. The flights from Seychelles to Maldives take place on a weekly basis. The Air Seychelles statement noted that this was done to "offer greater choice and connectivity to travelers thinking of an all-inclusive vacation or a stunning retreat on a private island, the flights departing Johannesburg on Friday evenings to Maldives will do the trick"
In 2020, the World Travel Awards named Air Seychelles as ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline’.
