What exactly does Meta Verified Subscription contain

It was just this Sunday when Meta made an announcement that could change the credibility of profiles all across some social media platforms. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg took to Facebook and declared that this subscription to verified badges "is about increasing authenticity and security across our services".

This new service is set to roll out initially only in Australia and New Zealand, though more countries will follow. How it works is by users over 18 years of age submitting a government identification that matches their profile username along with monthly fees of USD 11.99 for the web and USD 14.99 for iOS on Meta's Instagram and Facebook. The ID and the birth of date on their profile should also be a match.
While only certain accounts that have reached the "minimum account activity" will be eligible, it doesn't end simply with being approved for Meta Verified. After being approved, Meta will carry out "proactive monitoring" to make sure that the account belongs to who they say it belongs to and that this isn't an impersonator.
If you have a business where you would like to buy some credibility by having a blue badge, think again! Businesses are not yet eligible for this Meta Verified. You are also not allowed to make any changes to the profile name, username, date of birth and even photo without reapplying for the program. The Meta Verified subscription will also offer their customers access to direct customer care- a rare feat these days for anything Meta.
Those who already have a verified badge also can breathe a sigh of relief as Meta made it very clear that these accounts will face no additional changes. The company has also promised that this new program will bring "authenticity" and that follower count will be displayed "in more places" so users can assess credibility off the profile.
This new change comes after Twitter launched a similar program for buying verifications back in December where users can pay USD 8 per month for web and USD 11 for iOS via Apple’s App Store.
It was just a few weeks ago on February first when Meta released its quarterly report showing a sharp decline for the last quarter of 2022 when Zuckerberg made a statement of his own and raised Meta stocks by 20 percent in one blow. He noted, "Our management theme for 2023 is the 'Year of Efficiency' and we're focused on becoming a stronger and more nimble organization".
