"Your place or Mine" is like a rom com written by an AI

If someone took several of the "classics" from the romantic comedy genre and fed it to an AI, it may have come up with a checklist of what to include - and that would end up being this movie.
The plot follows the lives of main characters Debbie and Peter as they have to spend a week in each other's place. Themes of 'stepping out of your comfort zone' and 'pursuing forgotten dreams' shimmer dimly in the background and viewers are treated to the question of "what if we very slightly change your regular routine for 7 days?".
The reason many tuned into the film would have been its stellar cast of Reese Witherspoon and the genre's reigning prince, Ashton Kutcher. So it came as a pleasant surprise when the viewer's hearts were captured by the character of Jack played by 15-year-old Wesley Kimmel. The film's other notable character is Zoe Chao's character, Minka.
Think of factors that would come under "cheesy romantic comedy" and blend them together with an all-together toned-down version of acting and comedy and you get what the movie is about. Sans dramatic acting from the genre with a touch of reality's mundanity and that would be the essence of the plot.
