The video, titled, "1000 blind people see for the first time", showed real people with stories and tidbits on how cataracts can truly impede someone's life and how this simple procedure can help overcome that. Some of the patients came from homeless shelters and free clinics around Jacksonville, Florida as well as through SEE International (a nonprofit that helps restore sight globally).  People in Brazil, Honduras, Jamaica, Namibia, Vietnam, Mexico, Kenya and Indonesia also received the procedure.

These procedures were performed by ophthalmologist and surgeon Dr. Jeff Levenson who has his own 20-year-old program called the "Gift of Sight" that provides free cataract surgery for legally blind patients without insurance.

As he explained in the video, "half of all the blind people in the world are people who need a 10 minute surgery". The doctor explained that he had never heard of Mr Beast and almost hung up when he received the call regarding the surgeries last year.
