Hundreds of companies implement 4 day work week

As of this past Monday, a hundred companies within the United Kingdom, employing 2600 staff have signed up to implement the 4-day work week with no reduction in pay. The Guardian reported that with about 450 staff each, two of the biggest companies that signed up include Atom Bank and global marketing network Awin.

According to the 4-Day Week Campaign, they "invented the weekend a century ago and are long overdue for an update to working hours. We're campaigning for a four-day, 32 hour working week with no loss of pay which would benefit workers, employers, the economy, our society and our environment. Together we can build a society where we work to live, rather than live to work."
The UK is currently undergoing one of the largest trials of the 4 day work week with 3300 employees already signed up from June till December 2022. As early as September, 88 percent of the companies reported that the concept is working well while 95 percent report unchanged or higher levels of productivity since the trial began.

Adam Ross, Awin’s chief executive has already noted, “Over the course of the last year and a half, we have not only seen a tremendous increase in employee wellness and wellbeing but concurrently, our customer service and relations, as well as talent relations and retention also have benefited".
